Monroe Township Fire Department

The Monroe Township Fire Department was formed on April 1, 2000 when the Monroe Township Board of Trustees took over the Johnstown Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. The JVFD had a long and distinguished history of providing excellent service to the Johnstown area. The Monroe Township Fire Department has worked to build upon this legacy of service over the past 20+ years. Average minimum on duty staffing has increased to eight firefighters a day in response to a growing demand for service.
